IGGY & Litro Young Writers' Prize 2016/17

We are delighted to announce that, for the seventh year running, IGGY will partner with Litro Magazine to host the IGGY and Litro Young Writers’ Prize.

Inspiring, encouraging and acknowledging the creativity of young people is a common goal for IGGY and Litro Magazine. This competition is open to creative 13-18 year olds all over the world.

As someone who has studied creative writing and English at university myself, I am just completely overwhelmed by the quality and the shear incisiveness the individuals have shown Ken Sloan, University of Warwick, Registrar and Chief Operating Officer
While the interpretation of the theme has been unique with every piece, the quality has been consistently outstanding. I often had to keep reminding myself of just how young our entrants are, and our final selection includes stories that writers of twice our entrants age would struggle to beat. Tim Leach, 2014-15 Head Judge
Writing for me is a creative outlet, I write when I have something to talk about, when I feel upset, if I am really happy, I feel like I can write when I have quite extreme emotions Rianna Davis, IGGY and Litro Young Writers’ Prize 2014-15 Shortlist
I like writing because it is a way of reinventing the world around you Ella Holliday, IGGY and Litro Young Writers’ Prize 2014-15 Shortlist
As an Editor of a literary magazine, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the high quality, creativity and imagination of the brilliant young minds entering our Prize - year in year out. Eric Akoto, Editor in Chief, Litro Magazine
